An accurate and precise prescription is not the only thing needed for sharp, crisp vision.
Many people fail to realize that premium, high quality lenses are recommended for the best visual acuity.
Whether
you need a high prescription singlevision lens, lenses for high
astigmatism, readers or progressives; Eye to Eye is here for all
of you eyeglass needs.
The thickness of a lens often
translates to how comfortable and attractive a pair of glasses can
be. When lenses are too thick, many people often complain about
the glasses feeling too heavy or the lenses showing through on the side
of the frame. In addition to the way lenses feel and look, there
are also instances when certain prescriptions require a specific lens
material. In order to improve function, comfort and aesthetics,
we recommend the follow material choices when selecting your lens
material.

- Polycarbonate:
A thin, light and strong lens material, which is scratch and impact
resistant. This lens material has UV protection built into the
lens, and is tintable. Polycarbonate is the ideal material for patients
with an active lifestyle, who seek light and durable lenses. All
polycarbonate lenses carry a one year, one time, scratch, crack or chip
warranty.
- Trivex: These
lenses have similar properties and characterstics to the polycarbonate
material lenses. In addition to being scratch and impact
resistant, Trivex was developed to accomodate drill mount frames.
By increasing resistance to cracking and chipping, Trivex has become
the preferred choice for drill mount frame wearers. All Trivex
lenses carry a one year scratch, crack or chip warranty.
- High-Index 1.67/1.74:
The thinnest and lightest lens material available. Like the
polycarbonate material, high-index lenses are also scratch and impact
resistant with UV protection built into the lens material.
High-index is the ideal material for patients with higher prescriptions
and/or for patients with high astigmatism. All high-index lenses
carry a one year, one time, scratch, crack or chip warranty.
Eye to Eye also offers a variety of other lens treatments.
- Tinting
- Polarization
- Photochromic
- Safety lenses (ANSI Z 87.1)
- Prism
- Edge roll and polish
- and more!

There
comes a time in most peoples lives when it becomes difficult to read.
It may be that day when you suddenly feel that you need a ten-foot pole
to hold the item you are trying to read...
Fortunately there are great solutions to this inevitable problem.
A popular remedy to this situation is the use of bifocal or trifocal lenses.
With bifocals, a small portion of the lens is used to correct near vision.
Trifocal
lenses are similar to bifocal lenses as both use a small portion of the
lens to correct near vision, but the trifocal lens adds an intermediate
segment above the near segment.
Both bifocal and trifocals are effective in correcting presbyopia, but there are better functioning and newer solutions available.

The most current lens style available for presbyopic patients are progressive lenses.
Progressive lenses
incorporate correction for distance, intermediate and near vision into
one blended lens. Since the three different zones are blended, the
lenses do not look like traditional bifocal or trifocal lenses; instead
they look just like regular singlevision lenses.
Progressive
lenses give the patient the added benefit of having the add power get
incrementally stronger as the patient looks towards the bottom of the
lens, and are the favored option for most presbyopic patients.

There are many different brands of progressive lenses available, here are some of our recommendations:

Definity and Definity Short
- Varilux Physio and Physio 360
- Shamir Creation

When it comes to wearing your glasses all day, you may notice that your eyes feel fatigued at the end of the day.
Most instances of fatigue can be reduced by adding a premium anti-reflective coating
onto the lens. The purposes of anti-reflective coating is to
reduce glare and to allow more light to be transmitted through the
lens. Light is vision, and when light is bouncing off of the
surface of your lenses, you are not getting the best comfort or acuity
possible.
We recommend the following anti-reflective coatings for increased acuity, comfort, durability and attractiveness.

Crizal Alize (www.crizal.com):
Is
a premium anti-reflection treatment developed by Essilor. This
product is highly effective in glare reduction and adds increased
durability to your investment. Crizal
Alize is embedded into the pores of the lens and provides excellent
protection against pitting and scratching of the lenses.
Since the treatment becomes a part of the lens rather than just a
topcoat, Crizal products are less likely to chip, peel or crack when
compared to similar products. Crizal Alize is an extremely
hydrophobic treatment which is difficult to smudge and easy to clean..
Crizal Avance with 3M Scotchguard Protector (www.crizal.com):
Is the pinnacle of what an anti-reflective treatment should be.
Crizal Avance provides superior glare reduction and excellent
durability. In addition to all of the great features of Crizal
Alize, Crizal Avance also incorporates 3M Scotchguard technology which
increases cleanability, resistance to smudging and adds dust repulsion.

Essilor
of America, Inc. has teamed with 3M Company to debut a state-of-the-art
lens, Crizal Avancé with Scotchgard Protector, the Anti-Reflective lens
that's made to stay clean. This exciting new generation of Crizal®
